Facelift Surgery

Facelift surgery, also known as a rhytidectomy, this is a procedure intended to produce a more youthful appearance in the patient. This is achieved by removing excess facial skin and rearranging the skin on the neck and face. Facelift is a very popular type of cosmetic surgery. Many celebrities, especially older ones, undergo facelift surgery specifically to look better.

Facelift under a specific set of circumstances

It is more advantageous to acquire a facelift under a specific set of circumstances. For one, patients achieve greater results if they typically have better bone structure. Another helpful trait is having very thin skin to allow for easier alterations. Facelifts are usually performed to remove wrinkles or excess skin on the neck and cheek.

The procedure for facelifts

The procedure for facelifts involve cutting into the skin of the patient. This is called an incision and it is typically done near the front area of the ear. The incisions on the back of the ear are generally unnoticed in casual everyday settings. However, it is one of the primary ways observers use in which to detect a facelift. A distorted earlobe is a convincing sign of the procedure.

Side effects of facelift surgery

Some side effects of facelift surgery pertain to the hair. Part of the skin where the incision is performed may develop a moderate amount of hair loss due to damage to the scalp. Another negative form of publicity is the ease in which a facelift can be detected. Most patients seek to hide traces of the procedure so as to avoid potentially embarrassing situations. For women, it is generally easier as they have thinner skin as compared to men.

If too much skin is removed in the Facelift Surgery

If too much skin is removed however, the appearance is adversely affected. For men, the bearded portions of the skin present a challenging situation that is difficult to overcome. Women are more commonly expected to partake in the procedure rather than men.
